How to Fill Out the Project Overview in a Captured Project

Your Project Overview is the project section where you add key information like a description, objectives, and the project summary. The Project Overview also provides a space to tag your content which helps your colleagues to easily find your research in Search.

This article is about captured / uploaded projects.

To fill out the Project Overview of a newly captured project: 

  1. Go to your Project Inbox
  2. Click on the Plus Sign Icon kc_plus_sign_icon.png in the top right corner of the inbox
  3. Select “Capture Project”

A new window will pop up and ask you to add a title for your project and to select the project type.

  1. Give your project a title
  2. Select your project type
  3. Click on “Create” to start your project

Your new project will be created, and you will be taken directly to the “Project Overview” section.

  1. Fill out all the relevant fields for your project – including an informative description, adding any relevant tags in the “Context” section, and completed project objectives and summary

To fill out the Project Overview of an existing captured project: 

  1. Go to your Project Inbox
  2. Find the project you want to update
  3. Click on the project title

You will be taken directly to the “Project Overview” section.

  1. Fill out all the relevant fields for your project – including an informative description, adding any relevant tags in the “Context” section, and completed project objectives and summary

Once you are done with your Project Overview, you can upload your project documents by navigating to the other sections of your projects using the Project Panel on the left-hand side of your screen.

If you are not ready to add project documents or publish your project, you can go back to your Project Inbox by clicking on the “back arrow” in the top left corner of your Project Panel on the left-hand side of your screen.

Insider Tips: 

  • The more tags you add to your project, the easier it will be for your colleagues to find your research in Search
  • Adding a thorough description of your research will help your colleagues to quickly and easily understand the purpose of your research which will save them time and effort
