How to Add an Expert News Post to Announcements

Announcements host content that appears on your user community’s homepage to ensure they are always alerted about important insights or updates.

You have two options for adding a News Post to Announcements: directly from your Announcement Channel or from the Announcements inbox.

To add an Expert News Post from your Announcement Channel:

  1. Go to the News app from the left-hand side navigation bar

  2. Switch to the Curate view at the top of the page

  1. Stay in the Announcements tab

  2. Click on the Announcement Channel where you want to add content

  3. Click “Add News Post“ in the top right corner of the screen

A new window will pop up where you will be able to add key post details.

  1. Give your post a descriptive title

  2. Add a thumbnail

  3. Change the language if needed

  4. Set the publication date

  5. Input the text and images for your News Post in the “Body Text” field

  6. Click “Next“ in the bottom right corner of the window

In the next view, you will be able to add an external source, URL, and related attachments, if desired. This step is optional.

  1. Choose the source from the dropdown list, or click “Add New Source” if you cannot find the needed source

  2. Enter a URL to an external source, if desired 

  3. Add attachments, if desired

  4. Click “Next“

In this view, you will be able to add Classification Settings. This step is optional.

  1. Select the tags

  2. Click “Next“

In the next view, you can choose where to add your News Post. Your Announcement Channel will be selected by default, but you can choose additional places to include this news post.

  1. Select additional Feeds, Channels, or Announcements to add your News post to, if desired

  2. Click “Next“

In this step, you can review your News Post before publishing it.

  1. Click the "Publish" button in the bottom right corner of the window once you are satisfied with the post

The post will be immediately added to your Announcement Channel.

 

To add an Expert News Post from the Announcements inbox:

  1. Go to the News app from the left-hand side navigation bar

  2. Switch to the Curate view at the top of the page

  1. Navigate to the Expert Channels tab

  2. Click on the Plus Sign 3.png icon in the top right of the Expert Channels inbox

  3. Select "Add News Post"

A new window will pop up where you will be able to add key post details.

  1. Follow the steps 6-20 from the section above

The post will be immediately added to your Announcement Channel.

 

Insider Tips: 

  • Only internal experts with special platform permissions can add content to Announcements

  • Announcements can be published to the entire user community or to specific audiences

  • Tagging is key to make sure people can find your content
