How to Add an Expert News Post to Announcements

Announcements host content that appears on your user community’s homepage to ensure they are always alerted about important insights or updates.

To add content to your user community’s Announcements: 

  1. Navigate to your Announce on Home inbox
  2. Go to the Announcements tab
  3. Create an Announcement Channel, if needed
  4. Select “Add News Post”

A new window will open where you can add key post details.

  1. Give your post a descriptive title
  2. Add a date
  3. Input the text and images for your news post
  4. Select a source from the External Source dropdown menu or add a new source, if relevant
  5. Choose the Announcement Channel where you want to post your content
  6. If you are publishing to a specific audience, click “Add More Details”

  1. Input a country, brand, or group
  2. Insert any supporting content using the blue icons at the top of your “Add News Post” window

  1. Once you are happy with the content of your Expert News Post, click “Done” in the top right corner of the “Add News Post” window

Your Expert News Post will be automatically published on your user community’s homepage.

Insider Tips: 

  • Only internal experts with special platform permissions can add content to Announcements
  • A maximum of one Announcement Channel can be created for each user role – in either carousel or spotlight (thumbnail) format
  • Carousels are always displayed at the top of your user community’s homepage
  • Announcements are always displayed to the right of a user’s My Feed
  • Announcements can be published to the entire user community or to specific audiences
  • Users cannot hide Announcements using their feed selector on the homepage
  • Up to five slides can be included in the carousel or four thumbnails in the spotlight view
