How to Add an Announcement Channel

Adding Announcement Channels allows you to manage the feeds that will deliver curated content about the topics and themes most relevant to your user community.

To Add Your First Announcement Channel: 

  1. Navigate to your Announce on Home inbox
  2. Go to the Announcements tab
  3. Click the “Get Started” button in the center of your screen and follow the directions to create your channel

A new window will pop up and prompt you to add key channel details.

  1. Give your Announcement Channel a descriptive title and a description
  2. Define the target audience
  3. Choose a classification
  4. Update the language
  5. Click on “Done” in the top right corner of the window

 Your Announcement Channel will be automatically created, and you can start adding new content.

To Add Additional Announcement Channels: 

  1. Navigate to your Announce on Home inbox
  2. Go to the Announcements tab
  3. Click on the Plus Sign Icon in the top right corner of your inbox
  4. Select “Add Announcement Channel”
  5. Define the target audience
  6. Choose a classification
  7. Update the language
  8. Click on “Done” in the top right corner of the window

Your Announcement Channel will be automatically created, and you can start adding new content.  

Insider Tips: 

  • Only internal experts with special platform permissions can add content to Announcements
  • A maximum of one Announcement Channel can be created for each user role – in either carousel or spotlight (thumbnail) format
  • Carousels are always displayed at the top of your user community’s homepage
  • Announcements are always displayed to the right of a user’s My Feed
  • Announcements can be published to the entire user community or to specific audiences
  • Users cannot hide Announcements using their feed selector on the homepage
  • Up to five slides can be included in the carousel or four thumbnails in the spotlight view
