How to Add a New Shareable News Feed to an Existing News Channel

Adding a new shareable News Feed to a News Channel helps to share current information and keep your target audience up to date on relevant topics for your team or company. 

To add a new feed to an existing Expert-Curated News Channel: 

1. Go to the News app from the left-hand side navigation bar

2. Switch to the Curate view at the top of the page

3. Navigate to the News Channels tab

4. Click on the channel where you want to add a News Feed

You will be taken to a new view where you can edit the content and settings of the channel.

5. Click “Add Feed” in the top right corner of the screen

A new window will pop up and ask whether you want to create a new feed or add an existing Feed.

6. Select “Create New Feed”

You will then be prompted to name your feed, provide a description, and choose a feed type.

7. Give your feed a descriptive title

8. Provide a clear and concise description of the expected focus of the feed

9. Choose a Manual feed if you want to manually add content, or choose an Internal feed to have sources dynamically updated with the existing content

To add a new Internal feed:

1. Click “Next“ in the down right corner of the window

In the next screen view, you will be able to define the parameters for the items for your Feed.

2. Enter a search query or choose at least one provider

3. Click on the Language dropdown list on the right side of the search bar to adjust the language of the content, if needed

4. Click “Feed Content” to choose what type of content you want to go into your Feed

You can view the results that match your filter setup.

5. Click “Create“ in the down right corner of the window once you are happy with the filter setup

Your feed will create automatically and will be added at the end of the News Channel.

To add a new Manual feed:

1. Click “Create“ in the down right corner of the window

Insider Tips: 

• Only internal experts with special platform permissions can add Feeds to Expert-Curated News Channels

• You will be able to add any Feed you create to additional News Channels

• Manual feeds will remain empty until you create the first News Post or add content

• Retention period for Internal feeds is 90 days

• Unless you select Auto-publish, the feed will remain empty

• You can enable Auto-publish mode for Internal feeds from the feed view, allowing content to be published without the need for review
