How to Create an Expert Tip Using Promote in Search

Creating Expert Tips allows you to push content about a specific topic or theme directly to the top of your target audience’s search results, ensuring that the key content is noticed.

There are two ways to select an item to promote in Search – either via the Three-Dot menu in the top right corner of a content card or from within your Expert Tips inbox. 

To select an item to promote from Search: 

  1. Navigate to Search

  2. Type in a term or phrase you want to look for and press Enter

  3. Find the item you want to promote in Search

  4. Click on the Three-Dot menu 3 dot menu.pngin the top right corner of the content card

  5. Click "Promote in Search"

A new window will pop up where you can confirm key item information and add an expiration date.

  1. Review the item information

  2. Edit description if needed

  3. Select an expiration date - the date when you no longer want this item to be promoted to your audience

  4. Click the "Done" button

The item will automatically save to your Expert Tips Inbox. You can link items in the list with keywords that will connect your target audience with your selected content.

 

To add an item to promote in Search from your Expert Tips inbox: 

  1. Go to Search

  2. Switch to Curate view at the top of the page

  1. Stay in the “Items” tab

  2. Click the “Create” button if this is your first item, or click on the Plus Sign Icon Pl.pngin the top right corner of your inbox 

A new window will pop up where you can add key item information.

  1. Give the item a descriptive title 

  2. Enter or paste the link to the item you want to promote 

  3. Give the item a clear and concise description 

  4. Upload a thumbnail image by clicking on the Plus sign in the gray drop zone area 

  5. Select an expiration date – the date when you no longer want this item to be promoted to your audience 

  6. Click “Done” 


Your Promote in Search item will save automatically and be available for you to link with keywords in Search. 

Insider Tips:

  • Only internal experts with special platform permissions can promote content in the Search

  • An expiration date is required for your promoted item

  • You can create a Keyword Group to effectively promote selected items
