How to Manage Sources

Managing sources enables you to refine your answers by adding or removing AI-suggested sources during the answer generation. This empowers you to tailor the results to your specific needs, ensuring that you receive even more relevant and targeted information.

 

To manage sources:

1. Ask a question
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the Sources section
3. Click “Manage Sources“

You will be taken to the Source control view where you can select or deselect the sources used for the answer.
4. Click the checkbox next to the source under “Original sources” to remove it from the regenerated answer

5. Check the box next to the source in the “Further reading” list to include it as one of the main sources in the regenerated answer

Click “Regenerate answer“ in the bottom right corner.

Your answer will be regenerated using your selected sources. You can view the regenerated questions in the History tab, where they will have a regenerate icon 7fa02885-2b26-46a6-8157-a15d40d51ef0.pngnext to them.

Insider Tips:

  • Source management can only be applied once per question. To regenerate an answer again with different sources, you will need to re-ask the question.

  • You can view a short AI-generated description of the source and the exact pages with relevant information by clicking the Downward Arrow 99570f21-4af9-4d47-a281-ae2854853c23.pngnext to the source.

  • Some sources in the “Further reading” section cannot be selected in Source Control for the summary. This is because the AI identified them as less relevant or lower-quality, ensuring that the final answer is based on the most reliable information. You can view these sources by clicking “View sources“ under the “Further reading” list.
